Jess Huie honours the gift that is Toni Morrison.
Jessica honours Toni Morrison’s unapologetic boldness and her ability to capture audiences with her raw storytelling and poetic prose. Jessica focuses on Toni Morrison’s first novel, The Bluest Eye where she deals with the issue of colourism and the painful quest to live up to Eurocentric ideals.
Jessica speaks to the complexity of unchallenged intergenerational beliefs and the freedom that is bestowed upon those that choose to live in their truth.
